A BILL to amend and reenact section 1, chapter 144, Acts of the
Legislature, regular session, 1973, relating to authorizing
and empowering the county court (now county commission) of
Harrison County to use any unexpended sums and surpluses for
the purpose of creating a special fund to be used for
acquiring a new firefighters' school building and fire
equipment in Harrison County.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section 1, chapter 144, Acts of the Legislature, regular
session, 1973, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
§1. Harrison County expended sums and surpluses; use and
disposition for fire fighting school.
In addition to any and all authority and power heretofore
granted to the county count county commission of Harrison County with respect to the expenditure of unexpended sums and surpluses,
such county court county commission is hereby authorized and
empowered to use any unexpended sums and surpluses, presently or
hereafter existing, in the general fund or in any special fund of
said the county, for the purpose of creating a special fund to be
used for acquiring a new firefighters' school building, equipping
the building, and purchasing additional fire fighting equipment, or
for use as matching funds on state or federal grants, or the
payment of grant writing salaries, bonuses, costs or fees and grant
administration costs or fees in connection with the building of the
firefighters' school building, equipping the building or purchasing
fire fighting equipment.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide for the use of
the Harrison County fire fighting funds as matching funds for state
or federal grants and grant writing salaries, bonuses, costs or
fees and grant administration fees associated with qualified grants
pertaining to the firefighters' school building, equipping the
building or purchasing additional fire fighting equipment.
